My name is Jacob Cannon. I am a production assistant and freelance editor currently working in the film and television industry in Atlanta, Georgia. I've worked with such diverse clients as couples looking for video services for their weddings, organizations such as the NCAA, ESPN, and the Government of Indiana, and on major film and television productions such as NBC’s Young Rock, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Hawkeye, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
From 2015 to 2019 I attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Video Production. While there I worked at the local PBS station, WIPB, served as the director of photography for two short films and many promotional videos, and wrote and directed a short film of my own, Unidentified.
My biggest creative inspirations include the films of John Carpenter, Boots Riley, and Denis Villeneuve; the writings of Cormac McCarthy, Ted Chiang, and Dashiell Hammett; and the work of Swedish painter Simon Stålenhag.
I pride myself on being detail oriented, and I always tailor my work to what is best for the project. What I love most about this line of work is that every project is a learning experience, and I hope to never stop getting better at what I do.
